What is a Homeschool Portfolio?
A homeschool portfolio documents the educational progress of your student. It contains a snapshot of your school year should include: samples of work in each subject area which demonstrate academic progress, daily logs, a list of books read by your student, writing samples, your letter of registration and a list of curriculum that you are currently using. In addition to the required items listed above, you may choose to add pictures of special projects, awards, a field trip log, ect.
State of Florida Requirements?
Florida Law states that you must keep a portfolio of records and materials. The portfolio must contain: a log of educational activities made contemporaneously with the instruction, with a list of the titles of any reading materials used, and samples of writings, worksheets, workbooks, creative materials, etc., used or developed by the student. You must keep this portfolio for two years after it is completed. A homeschool portfolio evaluation must include a review of a portfolio and discussion with the student.
What is the cost?
The cost for a digital, online portfolio review is only $45 per student. Included in this price is the portfolio review, discussion with the student, certificate of completion and the county required paperwork.
Who can register?
Any student in Kindergarten through 12th grade who resides in any county in the State of Florida.
